Tottenham Hotspur :
Tottenham will play their second match of the season . They lost their first match 1-0 to Manchester United even after dominating for most of the time in the match .
They might play without their , recently announced captain Hugo Loris who is doubtful because of a wrist injury. Tottenham impressed with their attacking play against Manchester United and will look to continue like that . Last seasons star player Harry Kane will look to guide Tottenham to their first win of 2015-16 season .
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino:
“I think one more [forward is needed]… but I think we don’t need to bring in too many players.
“It is true [we are looking for another striker] but we are working to take the right profile, the right player.
“We don’t take a rash decision, we wait for a good opportunity. Sometimes you have five strikers, like Liverpool last season, and they were sixth in the table.”
Stoke City :
Stoke won both games against Tottenham in the last season and will look to maintain that record here . They lost their first match to Liverpool 1-0 but still looked solid .
Stoke manager Mark Hughes:
“At the top-level, you must have players with the ability to change games and Xherdan [Shaqiri] has the ability to create something out of nothing.
“There is a financial angle, which you accept, but it is about playing. He is a young man and he wants to get back on track.
“He has been at two big European clubs but hasn’t had the benefit of playing week in, week out for a number of years and maybe that is the attraction.
“All in all it’s been a really good window. We’ve probably done our business.”
