Pune and Rajkot 2 New IPL Teams – All You need to Know: As two biggest team of Indian Premier League – IPL, Chennai Super Kings (most time IPL Champions) and Rajasthan Royal (1st IPL Champions) remain suspended for 2 years. After that 2 teams becomes less in IPL teams list due to which broadcaster and sponsors start pressuring BCCI and IPL Committee to keep the teams up to 8. There on Dec 8, 2015, IPL Committee schedule an IPL draft for the players of CSK and RR to be traded into two new IPL Teams named- Pune and Rajkot.

The Pune and Rajkot Franchise will serve as a replacement for suspended 2 teams till 2 years. And in future, we will that these new teams will remain in IPL or not.

Team Owners:

Pune teams ownership is with new rising business Sanjiv Goenka of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group While Rajkot Franchise is owned by Keshav Bansal. Director Mobile and Electronics manufacturer Intex technologies.

How much Bid for Pune and Rajkot?

The bidding process used in this IPL Draft for two new teams is actually confusing. Reverse Bidding process is used in which two bidders will bid for an amount less than the base price of 40 Cr set by BCCI. RP-Sanjiv Goenka of Pune bids for 10 Cr while Intex Director bids for 16 Cr respectively.

Players Draft:

The draft for selecting players held today in Mumbai. Each Franchise can select 5-star players from both suspended IPL teams Chennai and Rajasthan. Then 10 Players selected by both teams will now be divided into 5 groups and each Franchise against select 1 player from each group.

Both Franchise will play 12.5 Cr to each player whichever they select first. Thereafter, other found will get 9.5 Cr, 7.5 Cr, 5.5 Cr, and 4 Cr. As Pune bids was low in Franchise so they will advantage of selecting the player first.

Remaining players from both suspended teams after selection of 10 players will be part of the main IPL auction which will be held on Feb 6 2016, with other Franchise players. Pune and Rajkot both have a purse of 40 Cr to 60 Cr for buying the players in IPL Auction 2016.

MS Dhoni and Steven Smith are two main players from CSK and RR. Pune first picked the Dhoni which is obvious and Rajkot picked Suresh Raina.
