The IPL auction took place on 6th February 2016. The management was successful in spending their budget to buy players like Tim Southee and Nathu Singh. Tim Southee is a great investment as this Kiwi star can add up to the firepower in the squad. There are other domestic players such as Gurinder Singh, Krunal Pandya and KP Kamath who have been added the Mumbai Indian squad after this year’s auction.

Expectations from Mumbai Indians Team:
The defending champions have a good balance in their team. The skipper Rohit Sharma is in a good batting form and can be quite dangerous for the opponent bowlers. The team management has retained 19 players because they have strong faith in this winning squad of 2015. The presence of Kieron Pollard, Ambati Rayadu and Corey Anderson offers great strength to the batting order. On the other hand, the bowling department is led by the most economical bowler of the IPL Lasith Malinga. He is backed up by Harbhajan Singh and Jasprit Bumrah.
