3 most underused Wrestlers in WWE

Most underused Wrestlers in WWE: The life of a WWE Superstar seemingly moves in cycles wherein, they go through phases of popularity and then there are phases wherein they may just be fillers on the card.

While not all of them have the same story, most do and it’s not because they aren’t good or ‘over’. It is just that like in anything, there are only so many slots at the top. Then there are the ones who despite having all the tools required to be a top player, just can’t seem to break out of the rut created due to lacklustre booking calls and puzzling decisions made.

In the following list, we look at the 3 most underutilized wrestlers in the WWE at present:

Titus O’Neil

Titus in one look has all the makings of a star. A gifted athlete, with the right pedigree and an easy charisma plus the ability to work should have had him come farther than he has.

However, he still languishes as one-half of a tag team which clearly has very little direction. One week, the Prime Time Players are tag champs or involved in the contenders’ battle and the next, they may be jobbing to the Wyatt family.

During his brief singles run, after the break up of the Prime Time Players, Titus was used as ‘jobber to the stars’ for a while and even in that limited capacity, his ring presence and flair was unmistakeable.

Cesaro

There is barely anyone, except for maybe Daniel Bryan, who is able to ‘pop’ the crowd with their in-ring ability like Cesaro. A throwback to the times when wrestlers actually were wrestlers more than showmen, Cesaro is a delight to watch in the ring.

‘The Swiss Superman’ is strong, agile, innovative and is second to none with his in-ring ability. However, ever since Vince McMahon appeared on the Stone Cold podcast and subtly ‘buried’ Cesaro, he hasn’t been able to find his bearings right with the backstage creative. Despite having a legion of fans behind him, Cesaro is a case study when it comes to how not to use a talent the right way.

Mark Henry

And then there is the ‘World’s Strongest Man’. That’s right, you have the strongest man in the world, who actually knows how to perform, and has been with the company for nearly 20 years, and yet is being used as cannon fodder for less deserving guys on the roster.

While Henry isn’t as agile and quick as he was ten years ago, the reality is that he doesn’t need to be! If only he can bring back the ‘Hall of Pain’ gimmick, the WWE Universe will be transported back to 2006 and the bad guys on the roster would know what a real ‘heel’ is supposed to be like.
