If rumours are to be believed Liverpool are targeting and are on the verge of signing Aston Villa Striker Christian Benteke.
Though there was news of the Reds moving in for the Belgium international, insiders believe the deal is almost as good as done as Benteke has been on the Reds radar for some time now.
If this deal with Benteke goes though, this would be Liverpool’s sixth signing this summer as manager Brendan Rodgers has been busy and already signed James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino and are also in talks for Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne.
Liverpool is currently also in negotiation with America’s U18 starlet Brooks Lennon who plays for Real Salt Lake City‘s youth academy and had a amazing last season. The youngster netted an astonishing 31 goals last season and is expected to be a big name in transfer market in the coming years. Besides Liverpool, Real Salt Lake City were also keen to sign Lennon and offer him permanent MLS contract.
Besides Lennon, the Reds now have also entered the race to sign William Carvalho, who till now has been Arsenal’s target. It is believed that scouts have been asked to see Carvalho in action during the European U21 Championships to decide on his future with the club.
Besides Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are also said to have shown interest in the midfielder.
