La Liga 2015-16 is 85th season of Spanish Football which is also known as Liga BBVA for sponsorships. The season will starting from 22nd August, 2015 and Final match of the season will be played on 14 May, 2016. Barcelona won the La Liga 2014-15 title by topping the table.
A Total of 20 teams will play in this top Spanish league, 17 from previous season 2014-15 and 3 teams from Segunda Division 2014-15. Two teams of Segunda Devision (Real Betis and Sporting de Gijón) with winners of play offs Las Palmas.
According to La Liga competition rules, Eibar will play in 2015-16 Liga BBWA being ending at 18th position in previous season 2014-15.
Real Betis is the first team from Segunda Division who achieved promotion after being absent for more than one-year in La Liga on May 24, 2015 after winning 3–0 over Alcorcón.
Sporting Gijon promoted to second place of qualifier on June 7, 2015, after winning 3-0 from Real Betis. Sporting achieved high level again after 3 years.
La Liga 2015-16 Schedule Release Date 23rd July, 2015
President of Higher Sports Council (CSD) and Royal Spanish Football decided to start the season on 22nd Aug, 2015, rather than starting it one week before on 15 Aug, 2015. This is done due to the dates of starting of Liga BBVA may collide with UEFA Champions League 2015-16 Season.
La Liga 2015-15 Dates will be shared when the schedule is out. As Real Madrid and Barcelona are biggest teams in this Spanish event so before releasing the fixtures Officials will show the dates to these two teams. Once they verified and all others teams are happy, then Fixtures will be released.

As you have already read that Schedule is released on 23rd July, 2015. Normally, La Liga season will start in Mid August. But as due to Euro 2016 dates, they will start the season on 22nd August, 2015 and End date is 14th May 2016.

Before La Liga gets started, FC Barcelona and Sevilla will play the European Super Cup 2015 on August 11 and the Catalan side will play Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup (August 14 and 17).
