After an initial slow start with regards to foreign players signing, Indian Super League (ISL) club Delhi Dynamos FC (DD) has now picked up pace and has now resigned two foreign players along with a marquee coach within a week now.
Adding to the above list, Dynamos on Thursday, signed their team’s assistant coach in form of former India footballer Raman Vijayan.
Dynamos on Thursday sent out a press release confirming Vijiyan’s signing and position with the club. The release said “Delhi Dynamos FC is delighted to secure the services of Raman Vijayan as assistant coach. He will also be the technical director of the club’s grassroots programme.”
Raman had a four-year stint with the India national team, in which is also participated in the Asian Games, SAFF cup, SAF games. He also had a 12 year long stint in club football where he participated in clubs such as East Bengal FC, FC Kochin, Mahindra United, Dempo and Mohammedan Sporting. He has also previously managed teams such as South United Club and Chennai FC.
Dynamos had signed former Brazil and Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos
Earlier this week Dynamos had signed former Brazil and Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos as their marquee manager. They had also retained midfielders Hans Mulder along with Gustavo dos Santos as their foreign signing for season two of ISL.
Though, Delhi along with majority of other ISL teams are yet to sign a Marquee Player, according to reports they are currently in talks with former Liverpool star John Arne Riise, and former Chelsea player Florent Malouda for the position.
