ISL 2015 | 5 Indian Players to watch out for

With the second edition of the Indian Super League just months away, we thought it’s a good time to have a look at few Indian players that would be joining the League this season and would be worthy to be considered great opponents that one can face in ISL-2015.

1. Sunil Chhetri:

The captain of the Indian national squad has been on the Indian Football scene for over a decade now. The most popular Indian footballer since Bhaichung Bhutia, the 31-year-old has also got the feat of scoring 50 goals for the Indian National Team, something that no other Indian has achieved till date.

Look out for Chetri donning the Blue Jersey again, only this time around for the Mumbai City FC team. It would also be interesting to see how he grows under the leadership of Former Chelsea player Nicolas Anelka who will be managing the Mumbai City FC team this time around.

2. Eugeneson Lyngdoh aka Eugene:

When Eugeneson Lyngdoh steps onto the ground, he would be the most watched Indian player in Indian Super League, having outsold Indian Captain Sunil Chhetri in the Indian Super League season 2, the 28 year old will be the centre of all curious minds that are new to Indian football and those who have been following him over the years, know that he deserves every single penny of the Rs 1.05cr that he fetched in Indian Super League drafts that was held earlier this year.

Known for his electronic speed and having been voted the best midfielder of I-League, fans are just waiting to find out how Eugene plans outdo his I-League performance and how would he fare with FC Pune City.

3. Rino Anto:

Though on the International front Rino Anto has made just two international appearances for the Indian national team, Rino has great footwork and his cross hitting ability is very accurate. He is also known for his throw-ins and is considered one of India’s best right-back players.

Anto created some buzz in ISL 2015 auction when he was sold for Rs.90 Lakh after starting at just Rs.17.50 Lakh. Looking at how eager Athletico de Kolkata was to get Rino on to their team, it would be interesting to see what the club has got planned out for him.

4. Robin Singh:

One of the best investments that the team of Delhi Dynamos did this time around was invest in local boy Robin Singh. The Twenty Five-year-old has the rare ability to combine well with players around him and being left-footed he is a rare player to have on the team. Though on the international front he has scored just once in his 20 matches, on the domestic front he was the joint-second highest Indian goal scorer in the I-League last season.

An exposure to world class International players playing on his home condition might also help him better his International game and thus looking at how this season of ISL could shape is future, he would be the Indian player to watch for in Indian Super League 2015.

5. Jackichand Singh:

23-year-old Manipur led Jakichand Singh, made his National team debut earlier this year, but before making his National debut, Jacki has already made a name for himself playing in the domestic circuit. While Jacki has been associated with I - league club Royal Wahingdoh since 2011, this would be the first time that he would be playing for a new team.

Keeping all these things in mind, it would thus be a make it or break it moment for him and thus it would be it would be interesting to see what Jacki can do to take his game to the next level.
