Indian Premier League 9th season is started from 8th April 2016 with the blistering Opening Ceremony in Mumbai. After the great success of t20 world cup 2016 in India and West Indies crowned as the champions 2nd time, IPL 2016 is all ready to take off and show the power of t20 cricket to the world.
As usual, there are 8 IPL teams will take part in this season and every team play every other team in round-robin format till the Group stage. Total of 56 matches will be played in the group stage and 3 matches are knockout games and the Final will be played on 29th April in Mumbai. Two new teams Gujarat Lions & Rising Pune Supergiants have been introduced after the suspension of two old franchise Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals due to Match fixing issues.
Sony Entertainment network channels Sony Six, Sony Max & Sony ESPN HD will show all the 60 matches on free to air channels. English Commentary will be shown on Sony Six & ESPN while Hindi Commentary can listen on Sony Max. You can check out Full Schedule of IPL 2016.
Live Streaming Online: Starsports.com will provide the IPL 9 live streaming HD in India online. Viewers who want to watch the Indian Premier League 2016 season 9 on mobile Android App, iPhone App or Windows Phone can download the official IPL App to check Live Scores and to watch the live telecast download Hotstar.com app. For People living in foreign countries can watch the IPL on their respective tv channels below or Fubo TV App. Unfortunately, IPL is not been broadcasted on Youtube as done in 1st two seasons of IPL.
Telecast in USA: ESPN the United States prime sports channel has been given the rights to broadcast IPL in Feb 2016. They have the tv rights till 2015-2017. ESPN has paid $12.4 million for 3 years deal to BCCI.
Sky Sports UK: In 2015, Sky network in United Kingdom has the rights to telecast IPL for the first time.
