Indian Premier League 9th Season Auction will take place on 6 Feb 2016, Saturday in Bangalore. Every year some players are retained in the team and some are released for auction. This IPL Auction process has players to be bought by teams. Sony Six who has the officials right to broadcast IPL seasons since 2008 will telecast on TV channels this year while Star Sports will provide only coverage of 9th season, Auction Show.
In 2008, Sony Six bought the IPL rights from BCCI for 10 years in US$1 billion. They will broadcast till 2018. So they telecast all the IPL coverage till 2018 which is confirmed.

On 16th Jan 2016, BCCI asked teams to reveal the player list which they have retained and released before Auction. So every team except Pune and Rajkot who comes in place of CSK and Rajasthan will give the list of players released for auction. Surprisingly, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Kartik and Dale Steyn are some big who are open for auction. Yuvi and Kartik are the two highest paid players in IPL history in 2015 season. Yuvi has been paid 16 crores while Kartik has been paid 12 crores.
Pune and Rajasthan have selected 5 players from each team (Chennai & Rajasthan) respectively and released other players for auction.
Pune selected: Dhoni, Rahane, Ashwin, Smith and Du Plessis while Rajkot selected: Raina, McCullum, Jadeja, Faulkner, & Bravo.
