India Squad for T20 World Cup 2016 and Asia Cup 2016 Announced

Today BCCI has announced the squad of Indian Cricket Team for T20 World Cup and Asia Cup 2016 both are to be played in T20 format. India will play back to back to t20 matches from 9th Feb 2016. They start their first t20 match of 3 T20 match series against Sri Lanka in India on 9th Feb 2016. After that from 24 Feb 2016 they will play in Asia Cup which is now being played in T20 format against Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This is the best preparation for the Indian team to for world T20.

BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur today announced the squad for both the competitions. The 15 member squad for both the tournaments is kept same so that players are bound to each other in understanding before World T20.

First 3 matches t20 series against Sri Lanka from 9-14 Feb in India followed by Asia Cup 2016 in T20 format from 24th Feb - 8th March 2016 in Bangladesh which is followed by World T20 2016 in Indian from 8th March to 3rd April 2016.

Pawan Negi is included in the squad against Sri Lanka series as a surprise package is now also included for Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Mohammad Shami is sent back to India due to Hamstring injury after selected in the team against Australia Tour is now also included for both Asia Cup and T20 2016.

Manish Pandey who hit a century in 5th ODI against Australia and helped Team Indian to win the last match is not included in the squad. He also felt disappointed after putting the good performance in last ODI.

Two bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav are also not picked in the squad for both the tournaments. Umesh Yadav exclusion is a surprise one as he played most of the matches in Australia tour.
