Big Bash 2015-16: Queens land batsman Chris Lynn who plays for Brisbane Heat is still having his sights set on returning to the game in Big Bash 2015-16 season. Lynn may still be out for the entire season after he suffered a dislocation of shoulder while fielding training exercise during the Matador BBQ One day campaign. Lynn dislocated his left shoulder as he dived awkwardly, resulting in over extension of his shoulder during a practice drill.
26-year-old Chris Lynn has represented Australia in T20 international matches and is perhaps one of the most exciting players in T20 arena. He has also played in the Indian Premier League, representing the Kolkata Knight Riders and made his name by taking an impossible catch of AB de Villiers against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2014 held in UAE.
The doctors treating Lynn’s injury have given some good news that he may be able to return to cricket earlier than expected and might even save him from having surgery on his shoulder. But he has to wait for an official diagnosis by the shoulder specialist. “I’m really hoping I’ll be able to get back, and my goal is to be there for the Big Bash,” the 26-year-old Brisbane Heat star said. The situation is that of the shoulder specialist gives the opinion of surgery than it would end Lynn’s summer and will require close to 4 weeks of recovery time that will see him of sidelines. This recovery time will also mean that any chances of Lynn making it to the Australian team for the ICC World T20 in India will also vanish.
“There’s every chance (I’ll require surgery),” Lynn said. “I’m going to miss the rest of the season whenever I get it done.” He continued and further added, “I’m better off holding off, I believe, and try and play as much cricket as I can and actually give it a crack.”
Lynn had actually scored a blazing double hundred in a Queensland premier cup game and is widely regarded as one of the top most fielders in Australian cricket at the present. He was also named the captain for Queensland bulls when regular captain Usman Khwaja was called up for national duty.
This is the second time he has injured his left shoulder. The previous injury was in July 2014 and it kept him out of the last year’s Matador cup, as he was sidelined for more than 5 months.
