After being voted one of the most hated premier league clubs last year, we thought we would have a look as to why many football fans just love to hate the Blues and just can’t get themselves to like the current English Premier League Champions, Chelsea FC.
What was even more surprising for many was that Chelsea FC was even more hated than Manchester United, a club which many European football fans have hated for decades.
Looking into the past 10 years of Chelsea FC, we found out that the club has been represented by many truly dubious characters, thus have been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Looking at the fact we thought we would bring to you the Top 3 of these “dubious characters” who have been part of Chelsea FC and with their acts have made Chelsea FC the most hated football club in Europe. Drogba, Torres, John Terry are the Chelsea FC Most Hated Players.
3) Didier Drogba

Though Didier Drogba is no longer with Chelsea he will always be remembered as a Chelsea legend.Known for his work ethics and playing attitude Drogba has always commanded respect from his teammates and opponents alike, and that is why it’s painful to see Drogba in Chelsea’s most hated player list.
But it seems no one can forget the amount of dives that Drogba has taken over the years and thus getting a dodgy reputation of hitting the floor even at slightest of touches. One of the most infamous diving incidents that tarnished the Ivorian legacy at Chelsea was when he feigned a head injury after Salvatore Aronica’s elbow hit him in the arm and later he was caught peeking through his hands to see if the referee had given a free-kick. Looking at these diving incidences one can see why rival football club fans ended up hating Drogba.
2) Fernando Torres

Leaving one’s club on a bad note can ensure that club fans hate you for a long time, but to leave one’s club for their biggest rivals after being adorned by your fans and after having committed to stay with the club is something which can ensure that hatred lasts for a lifetime. That is what seems to have happened to Spaniard Fernando Torres.
Fernando Torres back in 2011 had ditched Liverpool to join Chelsea for an English Premier League transfer record sum of £50. What is more the move came after Liverpool FC had rejected a deal of £40 million from the Blues.
The beloved Liverpool player Torres had not liked Liverpool’s move and had taken matters into his own hands and handed in a transfer request to the club to force them let him go and join Chelsea. The move had not only alienated Torres in the club, but his action had immediately turned the fans fury towards him with many branding him as a traitor.

Let’s begin with John Terry, hmmm… where to start, the acts of racism or the fact that he slept with his teammate’s girlfriend or how about the fact he wore the clubs full kit when he went to lift the 2012 Champions League trophy despite being banned from the final match.
Terry has done it all, in September 2012, Terry was banned for four matches and fined £220,000 for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand. He earlier in 2010 had a super-injunction imposed by a high court judge, so the fact that he slept with teammate Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend, Vanessa Perroncel in 2009 did not come out in Media, a move that soon backfired and the injunction was lifted exposing him and last but not the least the fact that after being banned in 2012 for the above racism incident, Terry still showed up in full kit after Chelsea’s Champions League victory to lift the trophy and faced the wrath of the fans for the same.
The choice is yours, with each incidence as humiliating for Chelsea FC as other.
Now for Ashley Coles, if there is one player who can give Terry a competition as Chelsea’s most hated player it’s Ashley Cole. Like Terry, Cole was embroiled in a series of controversies throughout his career at Chelsea. He was involved in a tapping up the scandal and then he went on and cheated on wife Cheryl Cole, and then even shot a student at close range with an air rifle. Cole was always in the news for all the wrong reasons.
