Till June 2013, Salary Cap for Big Bash Players were $1.05 million, there is an increase of $50,000 from last 2 seasons. In Feb 2015, Big Bash increased the salary cap of players up to $1.30 million with an increment of $100,000 as compared to previous season. In $1.30 million salary purse, any team can sign a total of 18 contracted players with a minimum of 2 rookie contracts and maximum of 2 overseas players. In addition, 2 overseas replacement players can also be signed by a team.

BBL05 Contract date start after 5 days of completion of BBL04 Final. This time, the salary cap increased by $100,000 to $1.3 million.
