KFC Big Bash season 5 |Melbourne Renegades sign two new bowling options: The Big Bash league 2015 will start on December 18 and will go until January. And it seems that Melbourne Renegades have seemed to chalk out their plan to win the BBL 05. They have just signed the duo of former Australia spinner Nathan Hauritz and tear away fast bowler Chris Tremain.
The live broadcast of all the matches of the competition will be showed on Network Ten in Australia and Star Sports network in India. The live streaming of the matches can be watched online on mobile phones using the Live App of Cricket Australia. The live scores and highlights of the tournament can also be viewed on bigbash.com.au.
Nathan Hauritz has represented Australia in all the 3 formats for a long time before his place was usurped by Nathan Lyon. Hauritz has played for Sydney Thunder in BBL 04 and Brisbane Heat in prior seasons. “I’m looking forward to a great summer in Melbourne with the Renegades,” the 33-year-old said. “The club has put together a strong squad this season and I’m looking forward to hitting the deck at Etihad Stadium in front of all the Renegades fans. “It’s an exciting time to be involved with the club.”
Nathan Hauritz picked up 63 wickets in both Tests and ODIs in a career lasting from his debut against India in 2004 to his last test against India in 2010. He also has 35 wickets in 52 domestic T20 games with an economy of 7.46 run per over.
24 year old Chris Tremain plays for Victorian Bushrangers in the BBQ Matadors Cup and also represented Sydney Thunder in the previous BBL season 2014-15. “I’m pleased to get the opportunity to join the Renegades and be on board for the next two seasons,” said Tremain.
“There are some really experienced players in our squad – many of who I know from Victorian circles – so I’ll use this experience to learn as much as I can from them and make the most of my opportunities as they come up.” Tremain further added.
The new signing for Renegades along with Hauritz and Tremain include former Australian T20 captain Cameron White and ICC World Cup 2015 winner Xavier Doherty. They will join the red Renegades squad with international players like Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo.
Renegades bowling coach David Saker was excited to work with 2 extremely talented spinners in Nathan Hauritz and Xavier Doherty. He says,” The combination of having Nathan and Xavier Doherty as the right and left-arm spinners was something we think can work for us this season – particularly at Etihad Stadium,” Saker said.
“Nathan brings years of experience to the side and he’ll be an important influence around the group,” Saker added.
