The ATP officials will look to reward the maximum amount of prize money for the tournaments best growth.
Australian Open officials will not share this information and they are keeping it secret till next year. They want to increase the prize money as thousands of people congregate in Melbourne Park to watch the Australia Open 2016 tournament on its very first day.
This year Australia open has increased the 2015 prize money of $40 million USD to 2016 Prize Money of $44 million USD, a whopping 10 % increase.
Tournament director Craig Tiley said: “I don’t think we are ready to talk about such things publicly yet. We still have a bit of work to do in terms of our planning for next year.
“But of course we are always looking to make the Australian Open as successful as possible financially.
“That’s because we want it to self-fund future growth and innovation, strive to appropriately compensate the best athletes in the world and also fund the growth of our great sport in Australia.
“Prizemoney is really important because we want to attract the best young athletes to tennis.
“So to have a healthy professional global competition, we need compensation that goes well beyond just the top players.”
Last year in 2015, US Open and Wimbledon has also increased their prize money. So there is a race between all 4 Grand Slams that who will play the highest prize money to Tennis Stars.
The 2016 Australian Open Winner Men or Women Singles will take home $3.4 million USD each. Since 2005, Australia Open Purse has increased to $25 million US which means $2.5 million in each as 10 years has been passed from 2005.
If this pattern will continue from Players end and spectators end, then this Tennis Open will be the no.1 most player friendly Grand Slam out of 4.
Every player who comes to play in Australian Open from Qualifiers round will get $2500 travel voucher with Free accommodation, and food on site.
The 2016 Aus Open first round player who loses will get $38,000 now and in 2005, it was just $20,000.
