With the 24th edition of the English Premier League just 10 days away, we thought we must bring something for our Chelsea FC fans. Chelsea FC are the currently reigning champions, who return to defend their crown & cement a legacy of a team which can very well be one of their all time best!

- Chelsea FC along with Arsenal was the first clubs ever to play with numbered shirts. They played their first match with numbered kits on 25th August 1928 in their match against Welsh team Swansea City.
- In December 1999, Chelsea FC became the first every British side to field an entirely foreign starting line-up (that is all non-English players) in a Premier League match when they played against Southampton.
- Chelsea FC’s 21–0 victory over Jeunesse Hautcharage in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971 is a record in all European competition.
- Chelsea FC’s mascot is a lion. You can see the image of their mascot on their club logos as well. They named their mascot ‘Stamford the Lion’ and a mascot’s costume as well, but back in July 2005, the costume their mascot was stolen from Stamford Bridge.

- Chelsea FC holds the record for the highest number of audience in the home attendance match. They had an attendance of 82,905 fans present in the stadium back on the 2 October 1935 when they played their league match against Arsenal FC.
- Back in 2007, that is on 19 May 2007 to be precise, Chelsea FC became the first team to win the FA Cup at the newly constructed Wembley Stadium.
- Under the management of coach Jose Mourinho back in 2004-05, Chelsea FC earned a record 95 points total in a League Season. The record still holds and what is more Chelsea FC also conceded the fewest number of goals in a league that season with just 15 goals scored against them.

- Former player Bobby Tambling is Chelsea FC’s all-time top goal scorer with 202 goals in 370 matches. He was with the club from 1959 till 1970.
- Did you know Chelsea FC founder Gus Mears had acquired the Stamford Bridge stadium back in 1904 and had decided he wanted to turn into a football ground and thus had found the Chelsea FC team the next year, while this all is important facts, what many don’t know is that it’s usually its the other way round with founder buying a football club first and then investing in a football stadium for that club.
- Back in 1997-98 Chelsea FC played one of the strangest matches in football history. They played a match against Tromso which is 100 miles into the Artic Circle. The game was so strange that at one point during the match, the game had to be stopped so that snow could be cleared from the pitch in order for the game to be continued.
